Memorize Scripture

A coach reads the passage to you, listens as you say it back, and helps you get it word for word.

How it works

Three steps, out loud

  1. Listen first

The coach reads the passage to you, reference and all.

  2. Say it back

A piece at a time. The coach listens and shows which words to fix.

  3. Put it together

Each piece joins the last until you can say the whole passage from memory.

Why say it aloud

And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Ephesians 6:17

A sword does nothing in its sheath. When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, he answered every temptation aloud, and every answer began the same way: “It is written.” He had the words ready because he had learned them. That is why the coach asks you to say every passage out loud.

Pray what you memorize

A passage you have learned by heart can be prayed anywhere, with no Bible to open. You do not have to wait until then: any passage can be prayed with it open in front of you.
